Read about a woman that did exactly that- In 1877 a young engaged English woman by the name of Mary Potter through the chance reading of a book, her life and future changed completely. As she read the book, she felt deep within her being an echo of a Love calling her to respond to the plight of the lonely, the poor and the marginalised, especially the sick and dying. The inner voice persisted and she eventually responded and began to put into effect her life’s purpose ….’to enter in to the sufferings of others, to bring about equality and dignity for all and to collaborate with others to create a world of justice love and peace, particularly she felt a compassionate love for the sick and dying. After much opposition and many difficulties her dream was actualised and her great work has spread throughout the World.
Today, we continue the great mission of Mary Potter in the living the joy of the Gospel through our Compassionate Caring Presence and make visible the God of love in the brokeness of those we encounter daily.
