A family reunion

It is not only in Africa that ancestors are important; we all owe them. Realising this, my mothers’ people, the Connellan tribe, had another family reunion in Clare this August. Relatives converged from England, Canada, America, Switzerland and New Zealand, a distinguished bunch all in all. As new waves of grandchildren appear at these gatherings, we seniors realise that our own ancestor status is approaching and appreciate family continuity all the more...

Late Visitors

Around 9 o'clock last evening three blackbirds visited the small garden at Mountain View Park. They were just on a pre-bedtime walkabout. It was a cool damp June twilight, not a time for singing, just down time. Only one had a yellow beak; but certainly they were related. Like a typical family they visited...
